Since a rug is made up loose strands of material instead of a solid hard surface (like a table), rugs can be one of the hardest to clean. If one wants to clean a rug without any traces of dirt, one has to really get inside the material to separate the fabric and make sure there is no dirt in between the fabric of the rug.

Since microscopic materials and wet liquids can seep into the rug, it’s important that one’s rug is cleaned in a way to make sure the rug doesn’t get rugged (unsure if pun is intended) after being cleaned. There are many ways to clean rugs. One of the simplest and best ways is to use shampoo. Shampoo creates foam which preserves the color of the rug; this way one can’t tell if ones rug has ever been cleaned since the appearance of the rug isn’t as a result of shampooing (besides for getting rid of the dirt that is).

Dry cleaning rugs are another great way to clean rugs since you don’t have to wait until the rug is clean to rearrange your furniture. Dry cleaning allows the rug to be clean without making it wet.
